How do I catch up on Ed Discussion threads I missed?

Choose your course, set “Posted since” to the day you last checked, and pick the “Catch me up on what I missed” prompt mode. EdRecap collects every thread posted since then and writes a prompt that asks the AI to summarise them for you.

Is it safe to give EdRecap my Ed API token?

Your token is stored only in your own browser and is sent to Ed to fetch your threads. Requests pass through the site because Ed will not accept a login straight from a browser, but nothing is stored or logged in transit. You can revoke the token in Ed at any time, and Disconnect erases it from your browser.

Can EdRecap post or change anything in my Ed account?

No. EdRecap only ever reads from Ed. It cannot post, reply, edit, delete, vote, or even mark a thread as read, so nobody on your course can tell you used it.

Does EdRecap cost anything?

No. It is free, there is no account to create, and there is nothing to install — it runs entirely in your browser.

Does EdRecap use my private Ed threads?

No. Private threads are never listed and never go into a prompt. Only threads visible to your whole course are used.
